We are your special area teachers:
Physical Education: My name is Mr. Calabrese and I am the Physical Education Teacher at Ison Springs Elementary. I have been teaching for 13 years in Fulton County. Our students get to learn and participate in various physical activities throughout the year.
TAG: My name is Ms. Manning and I am excited to be your child’s gifted teacher this year. As I embark on my 20th year of teaching (12 years as a gifted teacher)-----there are so many things I look forward to! I especially look forward to seeing and experiencing your amazing academic growth! I can’t wait to see your creative minds at work as you problem solve and make important decisions through higher order thinking. We have a lot in store for this school year---get ready for a fun ride!
Art: My name is Ms. Wu and I am the art teacher. I'm excited for my first year at Ison Springs Elementary! I have taught the visual arts from preschool, all the way up to teaching seniors at the high school level. I've always loved creating art since I was young and now I have the honor to teach it! I am a recent Masters graduate from the University of Georgia where I furthered my studies in art education and received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art Education, concentrating in Drawing and Painting at Georgia State University.
Media Center: My name is Ms. Ragghianti and I’m the school librarian. They call us METIs (Media Educational Technology Instructor). This is my tenth year teaching and my second year as a METI at Ison Springs. I love reading and I strive to instill that love into our Ison Springs students. It is the foundation that supports all other subject areas! I’ll be teaching reading, listening, and comprehension skills. I also teach students how to use technology to help with research and projects.
Music: My name is Ms. Sohn and I am the music teacher at ISES. I recently graduated from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY and while I am from Louisville, KY my parents lived in Duluth while I was in college so I am excited to come back to Georgia and start my teaching career here in Sandy Springs.
S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) - My name is Ms. Tripp. I am so excited to have your child in my class! We are going to be learning a lot of new fun and exciting things this year. I grew up in East Cobb, just down the street! I went to Georgia State University and received both my Bachelors and my Masters in Early Childhood Education, along with ESOL and Reading endorsements. When I’m not at school I enjoy hiking with my dog, working in my garden and reading a good book!
